Maadras, Chennai - India
Was scared before the flight as this is my first night flight. Jovan was with me on this trip also the upcoming Melbourne one. Slept in the afternoon hoping to "save and recharge"some energy during the night. Took the 2015 bus and we hop in with Azlan and Evelyn together and they are heading to New Delhi.
As usual, we introduce ourselves to the ISM. She's a nice and friendly lady not forgetting, the entire crew who we are going to fly back to HKG today with. All are just great and nice to work with. (btw, the time now in Maadras is 0517 and in HKG local time is 0745) ha ha... wondering why I couldn't sleep more.
The service throughout the entire journey coming from HKG - MAA wasn't that bad. Me and Joven had out briyani rice at 0230 in the air. Ha ha, that made me miss Malaysian's food. The banana rice, roti canai... Oh boy, talking about food to me will never end. We exchanged conversations with some pax around, some carrying their infants and they are so adorable - beautiful eyes!!
Reached Maadras, checking in the hotel and get settled down in the room .. That was also already 0600 (HKG time) wow!! Mentally tired. showered, send a mess to darling and try to sleep. I just lurves those pillows, they are just so comfortable. Slept for a couple of hours and then woke up and had the bun i bought from Wellcome and *doop* went back to sleep till about 12 soomething, Jovan smséd me. Ha ha.. We planned to hand around outside as we have the WHOLE~ day in the hotel and didn't know what to do. So he swing by my room and we went down to the lobby and checked out those restaurants and stuffs. Prices wasn't as cheap as I thought it would (it's hotel price). I wanted to try the briyani rice so much and it's like Rp 500?? erm ...RM37 for a plain vegetarian briyani rice. A "no" to me. We then went down to the lower lobby and then check out the business lounge as its free internet access for CX crew. We saw Pat in there and Renee just out from the gym. Pat then joined us out and we head to the Spencer's Mall. Whoops!, I also received Gloria's smséd telling me she lost her money during her trip
. Wondered what happened and shall checked with her later...
We took a tut-tut (is this the correct spelling??
) and, they know we are tourists they asked for Rp100 in order to bring us to Spencer's Mall. :Luckily, Jovan came to India before and we did asked the concierge and she told usit cost only about Rp 40 to go there. Finally, we paid Rp 50. The driver taking us merry go-round as he didn't bring us to our destination place where else to another mall instead. Jovan and Pat was firm enough to say that we want to head to Spencer's Mall not Saga Mall, somehow, the driver brought us there. I feel kinda insecure travelling around here. If without any guys, I don't think I would wanna come out without any guys.
As we are travelling in that tut-tut we get a little bit of sight-seeing - people in Chennai. Honks are just secs away to anywhere. Ooo, forget to mention, I woke up at about 8 something, I could already hear the honk sound till night. (not when I'm in the mall
). Walk, walk around saw lot's of shops seeling sarees, shawls, souveniers,.. We saw Guardian there and they called it Health and Glow. I didn't know the brand Himalaya things selling there was cheap till Jovan told me and I see it with my own eyes. It was like Rp40 for the foot cream. Darn cheap!!!!
.. We looked for food to eat too, was cautious enough not to simply buy anything so we ended up at Pizza Hut.
We ordered the Pork Pepperoni with garlic crust (additional Rp10 for that) and two types of garlic bread. I like the taste of their garlic bread but not so for the pizza, even Jovan. Ha ha, I find there are some spices inside there and I just couldn't figure out what was that. Later then we go check out some of the shops and Pat bought a few shawls back to her friends and family. Me, I bought a silk saree. The entire thing cost me about Rp2900 (round up figure) - the cloth, blouse and saree (tailor made) easy for me to wear it. I'll get my saree today as I asked the boss to send it to the hotel. Just wondering when will i be wearing that saree. Maybe during diwali and on Shaarm's weddig day perhaps? Ha ha, or maybe any functions with family and darling.
We also checked out the supermarket and after that head back to the hotel. Heading back was a bit of problem too. Drivers offered Rp 100, Rp 70 to ferry us back to the hotel and one of them told us that no one will ferry us back with Rp50 and advised us not to waste our time. Somehow, Jovan manage to ask around and whoo~hoo!!, we got one with Rp50 and brought us back to the hotel. Was tired, shower, mask and eyes was already closing. Ha ha ..
It's 0553 local time here in Maadras. Not sleepy but feeling a lil'hungry. Will get back up to my room after seeing darling online here.
Safe flight back home!!!!

CGK (SN)
Finally,my first "official" flight as a crew!! I was really excited about it. On the other hand, I'm feeling nervous too... Very nervous. Lynn was with me on the turn around flight to Jakarta.
Woke up at 0430am to prepare for my first flight. As usual, shower, makeup and breakfast at home and I went down at about 0615am to catch the 0630am bus. Sky was already turning bright and looks like 0730am - Malaysian time. Ha ha..
Reached CX City and I signed in, then first person I met that morning was Tammy, then Shirley and Tai Tai, Jcqlyne. Ha ha, both of them are going to Shanghai. Later then, I met up with Lynn and we went down to look for our ISM for our flight on that day. I am a bit nervous and finally it comes to our briefing time. Well, well, well, I do admit, I'm scared when I was in that room. And as expected, we, the newbies are being questions and I am being questions twice and I got twice wrong... Arghh!! How silly.
After breifing, me and Lynn was the SN for that day - which means we are not on door primary but door assist. My section leader was just so patient with me. She is just so wonderful and nice enough to teach me everything as I am totally blurred of what to do for thing flight. The loading for HKG - CGK was full - OVER FULL. Ha ha.. Me doing the meal service was really slow like a tortise. My other collegues are was ahead of me dy and I am like stuck on that same place for years. I do realize that some pax was being a bit unpatient with me already as other pax has already halfway eating or finish and the zone which I am responsible with still now serve all the pax yet. SWeat! swEaT! sweAT!!!
The call lights also non-stop. Well, I do not blame the pax as I can remember the first time I board on the plane, I do play around with the PCU. Ha ha, simply press the call light button without knowing it.
... Light back frmo CGK - HKG was much much better. Loading was just half. More easy on the return flight back to HKG.Duty ended. I still feel I have energy, but when I was in the bus back to Gold Coast, my head already fishing. And the next day, whole body aching. Literally WHOLe body. ouch! Luckily I have a G day off to rest - and in fact I did. Rest at home the whole day and accompany darling. We just pak tor onlining the whole day! How sweet!

On Job Learning
So, here's my first blog~ on Xanga, introduced to me by Gloria.
Talking about my first OJL. It was a turn around flight to Taipei - yes Taipei!! Rush hour I would say. Flight delayed for 45 mins. Captain made 2 announcement. Finally the plane took off at 1730. During take off, it was rather bumpy and noisy too. After the plane took off and seatbelt chime once, crew start to do their work. They were fast for everything - presetting the course, drinks, distributing and so on.
It;s only a short haul flight - only takes one hour 20 mins to reach and pax didn't given a choice for meal as they only have one choice as also the time didn't permit anyone of them to make a choice. Upon arrival, I took a quick one on my meal, eat it and prepare for the next flight from Taipei back to HKG,
This time on the way back me and Lee Yung get to hop on the "jumpseat". Fuh la~ la~. It was just an amazing experience and memorable one. Awesome view from the cockpit and it looks as if I can reach for the stars and pluck them down keeping it inside my pocket. We can even view Taipei from there which is just so mesmerizing. It's just a chance of a lifetime.
On the way back, I got a handson on the cart top setting, distributing and also the tray collection. Everything seems to be so fast. Then I need to hop into the cockpit again when I heard the captain announcement. We did have quite a smooth landing eventho there are black clouds around which I can really see with my own eyes for the first time - pretty scary!
Overall, great experience for a new crew like me. I did made a few mistakes Well, quite a number off I would say. Shall learn along my way. My friends out there, good luck to you guys too. Looking forward to fly with you guys!!!!
Keep updating more in future with more flights..
